Gameforest FAQ
Here you’ll find answers about our comparison, buying game keys and gift cards, and choosing a game server. If anything remains unclear, you can reach us via the Contact page.
Gameforest and the comparison
What can I compare on Gameforest?
You’ll find Game Keys and DLCs, game servers and gift cards, subscriptions and in-game currency. In the Magazine we publish gaming news. Linked games and articles help you find offers and news about the same game.
Do I buy directly from Gameforest?
No. Gameforest takes you to the respective store or host. You place and pay for your order there. The seller is your contract partner and point of contact for delivery, billing and any problems with your order.
How current and complete are the offers?
We take offer data from the sources available from the stores and process most of it automatically. How often it is updated depends on the source. Game server prices and availability are updated monthly. Hardware and capacity details may have been checked at a different time. Check the details on the offer and confirm the final price with the host. The comparison does not cover every offer on the market.
How is Gameforest funded?
Some of our links are affiliate links. If you buy something through them, we may receive a commission. Being listed in the comparison is not a guarantee for a store or host and does not mean we tested its offer ourselves. More on this can be found on our About us page.
Game keys, DLCs and prepaids
What should I check before buying a game key?
Check the game title, edition, platform, activation service and region. A PC key is not automatically suitable for a console. An account offer is not an activation key for your own account. Test access and subscriptions also differ from buying the game. The product description at the store must match what you want to buy.
Can a DLC be used without the base game?
Many DLCs and expansions require the matching base game. Some expansions can also be played on their own. So check the requirements of the specific edition and the individual add-on. A Deluxe Edition may include extra content, while a separately sold upgrade does not necessarily include the base game.
What matters with gift cards, subscriptions and in-game currency?
Check the platform, region, currency, amount and term. Subscriptions may require conditions such as a new customer account or a specific existing plan. A gift card and a subscription are different products. Also check the redemption terms with the store and whether the subscription renews automatically.
My key is missing or won’t activate. What can I do?
Check the order and the delivery information with the shop. If you have activation problems, first check platform and region. Then contact the seller’s support with your order number and the error message. Do not publish your full key. If our comparison described or assigned the offer incorrectly, please also report the affected link to us.

How do filters and sorting work?
The filters narrow down the plans shown based on your selection. Budget sorting helps you find cheaper offers. Resource sorting puts the documented specs more in focus. More RAM alone does not guarantee better performance. Also consider the processor, shared or dedicated resources, location and the requirements of your game.
How are the estimated player numbers calculated?
Our estimates combine documented resources with assumptions about the game and the chosen usage. They are not guaranteed slots and not a performance test. Mods, plugins, game version, world size and active players can change the requirements significantly. For Minecraft, the running server already needs a baseline amount of RAM. Additional players increase the requirements, but not equally under every configuration. You can find the assumptions and available sources in the offer details.
Why are hardware details missing for some hosts?
Not every host publishes the same plan details. We mark missing or unconfirmed details instead of deriving a specific spec from them. A known processor in the data center, for example, does not yet tell you how much computing power your plan actually gets. Use the detail view and, if in doubt, ask the host.
Does the displayed monthly price match my bill?
Not necessarily. A price converted to a monthly amount may require paying for a longer period upfront. A 30-day billing period is also not the same as a calendar month. Check the term, the invoice amount, taxes, setup fees and the price after any promotion. The plan details help you spot these differences.
Errors, messages and contact
I can’t find a game or I see an offer that’s been assigned to the wrong game.
Try another part of the title or a known alternative spelling. If the game is still missing, or an offer belongs to a different game, platform or add-on, write to us. With the link to the page and a short description, we can check the assignment.
How do I report an error in an article or suggest a store?
Use our Contact page. For technical errors and incorrect assignments, Magnus is your contact. Business inquiries and suggestions for adding a store or host go to Morten. For an article, the link and the affected passage of text help us.
