In-game currency and items for Escape from Tarkov
Escape from Tarkov is a tactical extraction shooter for PC in which every raid starts with a concrete decision: which gear are you risking, which task do you want to complete, and how do you get out of Tarkov alive with your loot? As a PMC of USEC or BEAR, you enter closed-off areas of the fictional Norvinsk region, meet other players and AI-controlled Scavs there, and search for weapons, ammunition, medical supplies, trade goods and quest items.
Raids, loot and extraction
The core of the game is the PvPvE raid. You assemble your loadout before the run, move through vast maps without a classic minimap, and must reach a suitable extraction point before the raid time runs out. If you die along the way, you lose most of the gear you were carrying. Successfully extracted loot, however, goes into your stash and can be sold, used for tasks or taken into later raids. Alongside the PMC, Scav runs with random gear are available, offering an alternative entry into the loot economy.
Tactical gunplay and extensive weapon customization
Escape from Tarkov combines first-person shooter combat with detailed systems for ballistics, ammunition, armor and injuries. Different ammo types, armor classes and hit zones affect fights just as much as positioning and sound. Weapons can be configured from numerous parts and attachments, allowing you to precisely change the ergonomics, recoil, optics and purpose of a build.
Long-term progression between runs
Outside of raids, you develop your character, complete tasks for traders and expand your hideout. Trader levels, skills, crafting and your own stockpiling all work together. This creates a lasting progression loop of preparation, raid, extraction, trading and upgrading your next loadout.
PC and Steam version
The full 1.0 version was released on November 15, 2025 for Windows and has been available on Steam since then. The Steam version also requires a Battlestate account. Escape from Tarkov supports online PvP and online co-op and also offers a PvE play area with the PvE Zone. When buying a key, pay close attention to the activation platform, region and the exact scope of the offer; commercial editions are variants of the same base game, not separate games.
