Editorial guidelines

Gameforest combines gaming news and game information with commercial comparisons for game keys, game servers, gift cards and subscriptions. Here we explain how this content is created, what role artificial intelligence plays and how you can alert us to errors.

Who is behind the content

Gameforest is run by Morten and Magnus. We are responsible for choosing the systems we use, the direction of the website and how we handle corrections. Using AI does not transfer this responsibility to a language model. You can learn more about us at About Gameforest; details about the operator are in the Legal notice.

How we use AI and automation

We use AI tools and AI agents for both editorial content and the commercial catalog. They help us cover more games and developments, make sense of information and maintain a large data set. Support goes beyond spelling corrections: AI can draft and rewrite texts, and create, publish and update content and structured data through our tools.

  • News and game pages: Reviewing sources, summarizing reports and putting them in context, preparing texts, expanding existing articles and linking news to the matching games.
  • Catalog and comparisons: Maintaining descriptions and metadata, such as platforms, release dates, genres and editions, as well as relationships between base games, DLCs and franchises.
  • Technical maintenance: Finding bugs, checking data quality and developing the website and its tools.

Separately, classic automated systems process merchant feeds, prices and availability and match offers to products. Automation is therefore not always AI. An automatically generated match can also be wrong.

AI-assisted content is checked by our editorial team. This includes Morten and Magnus as well as freelance staff. AI can misread sources, mix up information or produce unsupported claims. Responsibility for our content remains with our editorial team. Traceable sources and correcting errors are essential.

Sources, context and our own experience

For news and game data, we prefer traceable original sources: for example, announcements from developers and publishers, official store pages, patch notes and documented product details. If a story comes from another outlet’s reporting, that origin must be clear in the article and the source linked. An AI output is not a source in itself.

Confirmed information, rumors and our own analysis should remain distinguishable. Unconfirmed claims must be labeled as such; a release date that is not yet known may not appear as a confirmed release date. If information changes, older articles and catalog entries may temporarily show outdated details.

A description or inclusion in a comparison does not mean that we have played a game ourselves, checked a store through a test purchase or run a server ourselves. Our own tests and experiences must be described as such. AI-generated texts may not fake personal gaming experiences or tests.

Commercial interests and editorial content

Gameforest uses affiliate links. If you buy from a retailer through such a link, we may receive a commission. This mainly affects our offer and comparison pages. A merchant link or listing is not an editorial seal of approval or a guarantee for the store.

Paid advertising and partnerships must be clearly recognizable as such. Business partnerships do not replace a factual basis for editorial statements. Even for AI-assisted content, advertising claims, provider information and our own assessment must remain distinguishable from one another.

Comparisons show the offers we have recorded and do not necessarily cover the entire market. Prices, fees, payment methods, availability and service details may change. The chosen sorting and available filters help with selection; a top spot does not automatically mean “best offer for everyone.” When buying, the details and terms of the respective store apply.

Report corrections and errors

You can report factual errors in messages, as well as wrong platforms, mixed-up games or DLCs, unsuitable offers, incorrect prices and technical problems.

Report an error: [email protected]

Helpful information includes the affected URL, the specific incorrect detail and, if available, a source or screenshot. Please do not send passwords, login details or complete product keys.

We follow up on reports and correct confirmed errors. For significant content corrections to news, a note in the article should explain the change. Ongoing price and catalog updates are to be distinguished from these: they are updated as part of data maintenance. We cannot promise a fixed processing time.
