FTL: Faster Than Light for iPad brings Subset Games’ tactical spaceship simulation to Apple’s tablet. You lead the crew of a Federation ship through a randomly generated galaxy to deliver vital information to an allied fleet. Every jump into a new sector can trigger surprise encounters, traders or a dangerous battle.
Steer the spaceship and crew by touch
On the iPad, you distribute power between shields, weapons, engines and other systems, assign crew members to rooms and prioritise damaged equipment. You can pause battles to plan your next actions calmly. Different ships, weapons and random events mean every journey demands its own decisions. If your ship is destroyed, you start a new run because of the permadeath principle.
iPad version with Advanced Edition
The iPad version was released on Apr 3, 2014 and already includes the free FTL: Advanced Edition expansion with additional ships, weapons, enemies, systems and events. It is bought through the Apple App Store and does not grant a Steam PC licence. The app is designed specifically for iPad; a standalone iPhone version has not been released. The game offers German interface text and other translations.
