Hex of Steel for iPhone and iPad brings the large-scale turn-based strategy of the PC game to iOS. On hex maps you lead troops in World War II, plan offensives and defend key positions. Terrain, lines of sight, weather and supply affect how battles unfold. Missions range from small skirmishes to extensive campaigns in Europe and other theatres of war.
Strategy on the go
The focus is on well-considered turns rather than reaction speed: you position infantry, tanks and support units, protect supply lines and use the strengths of different unit types. Alongside historical scenarios, you can try alternative outcomes and create your own battles with the map and scenario editor. Several AI levels suit both beginners and long, demanding matches.
iOS version and multiplayer
The native app is available for iPhone and iPad on the Apple App Store. Hex of Steel supports several multiplayer formats and cross-platform matches with versions on other devices. The iOS app is a separate release; a Steam key for the PC version cannot be redeemed on an iPhone or iPad. The music pack sold separately on Steam is not part of a standalone iOS expansion.
