Root: The Riverfolk Expansion is a separately available in-app expansion for the digital board game adaptation Root for iPhone and iPad. The Riverfolk Company brings trading posts and services to the forest, while the Lizard Cult exerts influence with gardens and converts. Three new Vagabonds (Scoundrel, Ranger and Arbiter) open additional tactical paths and more faction combinations.
Additional content on iOS
The new game rules and content are activated within the Root app. You need the purchased base game for iOS, and you load the expansion via the in-app offer rather than via a Steam key. According to the developer, a Dire Wolf account lets you use expansions you have bought once on other supported platforms too, as long as you are signed in with the same account.
The iOS expansion was released on Apr 28, 2021. For the individual in-app purchase, Apple does not publish a reliably attributable separate product ID on the public app page; the App Store ID of the Root base app is explicitly not used as a DLC identifier.
