In Call of the Sea VR, you experience Norah’s journey through a mysterious island in the South Pacific from the perspective of a version of the game fully reworked for virtual reality. In 1934, Norah follows the trail of her missing husband Harry. Among dense forests, ancient ruins and strange machines, a story unfolds about love, memory and mysterious powers.
Redesigned for Meta Quest
Out of the Blue rebuilt the environments and puzzles for Meta Quest and adapted them to the headsets’ VR capabilities. Instead of a conventional screen, you look around in space and examine objects and clues from your own first-person view. The story of the original Call of the Sea is retained, but this version is a standalone VR product with its own installation and Meta Store ID, not a mere Deluxe Edition or an upgrade of the PC game.
Puzzles without combat
The focus is on deciphering ancient symbols, combining clues and solving mechanical puzzles. Norah is voiced by Cissy Jones in the English original; the Meta Quest version also supports French and Spanish voice acting as well as German on-screen text. Raw Fury released Call of the Sea VR for Meta Quest 2 on April 13, 2023; it is also playable on compatible newer Quest headsets.
