World War Z VR brings the zombie invasion to Meta Quest. You take the first-person view of a survivor and fight through cities full of infected using motion controls and VR controllers. The huge hordes include up to 200 zombies visible at once, pressing in from several directions.
Ten maps and seven survivors
Missions take place in New York, Tokyo and Marseille. You choose one of seven survivors, put together weapons and abilities, and work through the operations across ten maps and a tutorial. Three difficulty levels and customizable gear provide different challenges. Movement is free within your play space, and comfort settings can be adjusted.
Standalone singleplayer for Quest
The game was developed by Saber Interactive specifically for VR. You play alone with AI companions; multiplayer and co-op are not included. A connection to a gaming PC is not required for this version. The developer supports seated and standing play. On-screen languages and subtitles are available in English, German, French, Russian and Spanish.
Compatibility, release and purchase
The native Meta Quest version was released on Aug 12, 2025 and is listed in the official store for Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest 3S and Quest Pro. It needs about 7.27 GB of storage and can be played offline after download. A PC SteamVR license is separate from this. The Golden Skin Pack offered before release was a pre-order bonus and not a separate main game.
