Alter World is a 2D puzzle platformer with a painting-like design, in which each level lets you switch between two versions of reality. On the New Nintendo 3DS you must use this ability at exactly the right moment: a chasm can become a safe path in the other reality, while spikes, moving platforms and portals demand quick reactions.
Two worlds, one exit
Each section requires you to reach the exit. You can also switch the parallel world mid-jump to uncover new paths. The game relies on repeated attempts, timing and learning the rules of each level. The atmosphere includes drawing-like backgrounds and restrained music.
Historical New 3DS version
This standalone port was offered on the North American Nintendo eShop on Apr 5, 2018 for New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 2DS XL. Compatibility with older Nintendo 3DS models is not confirmed for this release. Since the 3DS eShop closed, a new purchase is no longer regularly possible. It is not the same license as the later Nintendo Switch version.
