DAMON and BABY for Nintendo Switch 2

In DAMON and BABY, players accompany the demon king Damon, who is bound by a curse to a mysterious child. Searching for a way out, the unusual duo explores winding locations, discovers hidden paths and takes on dangerous creatures. Arc System Works combines an exploration adventure with direct twin-stick shooter action from a top-down view.

Weapons, skills and local co-op

Damon switches between melee combat and firearms such as pistols and machine guns. Ammo, reloading and dodge moves play an important role in boss fights. Between exploration sections, you can buy new equipment at the base and customize your playstyle with skills and outfits.

If you want to play together, you can take on the game locally with a second player. The second player takes over Damon’s dog and helps collect items or in combat. Co-op works offline on one console.

Standalone Switch 2 version announced

Arc System Works announced a native digital Nintendo Switch 2 version in November 2026, in addition to the Nintendo Switch version that is already out. This must be distinguished from the backward-compatible Switch game. Owners of the existing Switch version should be able to get the new platform version through a separately sold upgrade pack. A binding release date and a dedicated Nintendo eShop product code are not yet known. Specific technical improvements to the Switch 2 version have not yet been independently confirmed.

Free bonus chapter “Rise of the Oracle”

The free story update Rise of the Oracle, announced for Feb 18, 2027, expands the adventure with a Japanese-inspired in-between world and new characters. This date refers to the release of the additional story chapter and the newly assembled retail version for PS5 and Switch, not the still undated launch of the native Switch 2 version. The bundled retail version is not a standalone new base game.
