a pet shop after dark begins with an unusual job advert. For the night shift at a small pet shop, you are supposed to water plants, look after invisible pets and, above all, never do one thing: switch off the light.
The seemingly cute point-and-click adventure develops into a psychological horror puzzle. The game world fakes errors and crashes and requires you to examine the virtual computer interface closely. Some clues lie outside the obvious game window. With every puzzle solved, the background of the pet shop becomes more unsettling.
The console version of the PC game originally released in 2022 includes an adapted virtual desktop environment and additional diary entries. On Nintendo Switch, the single-player game can be played with both controller and touchscreen. The Switch 2 console can play the Switch version, but a standalone native Switch 2 version is not confirmed.
