Everything is Crab: The Animal Evolution Roguelite is a colorful action roguelite in which you decide how your small creature Darwin evolves. In search of food and a place in the food chain, you hunt other creatures, flee predators and cross a living ecosystem. The unusual world follows a playful evolution rule: sooner or later, everything turns into a crab, at least if you don’t counter it with the right abilities.

Combine over 140 evolution abilities

Darwin changes with every new run. Instead of pre-made character classes, you combine abilities and specializations into ever-new body forms: wings, spikes, shells, claws and other traits affect movement, attack and defense. Four biomes with different environmental conditions, the day-night switch and dangerous bosses require you to keep adjusting your strategy. Genes, challenges and a codex ensure that new attempts open up further possibilities.

Native Nintendo Switch release

The Nintendo Switch version releases on Jan 26, 2027, as Nintendo confirmed in the Indie World presentation on Oct 28, 2026. Alongside the regular Switch version, there is a technically adapted, standalone native Nintendo Switch 2 edition. Nintendo announced that buyers of the Switch version can get the Switch 2 upgrade for free. The second version of the game is not an additional base game or a separate Deluxe package to catalogue.

New runs, changing enemies and an unlockable endless mode make the single-player adventure different every time.
