On Nintendo Switch, Outbreak: Dead City takes you into a metropolis overrun by zombies as a soldier of the H.A.D.E.S. unit. You search for scientists, secure important research data and hope to track down a hidden lab with a possible vaccine. The story is told in a classic first-person shooter with angular retro 3D graphics.
Over the course of the missions, you use pistols, rifles and melee attacks, collect ammo, upgrade weapons and talk to surviving city residents. Additional tasks help you obtain resources; in New Game Plus mode, you can go again after the credits.
The standalone Switch version from eastasiasoft releases on Nov 4, 2026. Nintendo confirms single-player and TV, tabletop and handheld modes, cloud save data and German on-screen text. It can be launched on Switch 2 via backward compatibility, but it is not a standalone Switch 2 release.
