Beast Busters & S.A.R.: Search and Rescue is a free add-on pack for the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection on Nintendo Switch. It expands the collection with two SNK arcade games: the horror lightgun shooter Beast Busters from 1989 and the science fiction action title S.A.R.: Search and Rescue from 1990.
Two additional arcade classics
In Beast Busters, armed specialists fight zombies and other monsters in a city inspired by horror films. S.A.R.: Search and Rescue, by contrast, sends you on a dangerous rescue mission against alien enemies. Both games supplement the original selection of the SNK anthology and can be played with its modern save and rewind functions.
Free Switch download
The pack was released on Dec 11, 2018 as a separate free Nintendo eShop DLC. It requires the Switch version of the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection including software version 1.02 or later. On the same day, nine more games were added as a free update: these nine belong to the updated collection and do not require a separate DLC download. The additional content is not a standalone game, nor a special sales edition of the base game.
