Sol Divide – Sword of Darkness on Nintendo Switch
In Sol Divide, you fight against the troops of a demon king in a fantasy realm. The 1997 arcade classic, developed by Psikyo, combines side-scrolling shoot ’em up action with melee strikes and eleven magic attacks. Unlike a pure spaceship shooter, you control one of three fantasy heroes through short, demanding stages.
Three heroes and eleven spells
The former knight Vorg is out for revenge for the destruction of his homeland. With powerful sword combos he can hold his own against the monsters. The winged warrior Kashon has a longer reach, while the sorceress Tyora plays to her strengths with spells. You need to recognize attack patterns, dodge enemies and at the same time decide when a sword strike or a spell will have the best effect.
Arcade action on TV and on the go
City Connection released the native Nintendo Switch version on Mar 22, 2018. It supports TV, tabletop and handheld mode, as well as up to two players on one console. Nintendo lists Japanese and English as supported languages and a download size of around 90 MB. The short levels reward precise movement and practicing boss fights.
