Akihabara – Pure Beat is a free additional game mode for the PC rhythm game Akihabara – Feel the Rhythm. While the original campaign requires stacking same-coloured blocks and clearing them in musical combinations, Pure Beat removes the puzzle mechanic. The focus is purely on exact timing: you react to the music and try to hit the set note sequences as precisely as possible.
Rhythm instead of block puzzle
The mode uses the familiar electronic music of the base game, but adds its own rhythm challenges, a new online leaderboard and the hunt for perfect scores on every track. The add-on was released on Apr 17, 2017 for Windows PC and requires the base game on Steam. It is a separate genuine game mode DLC, not a Deluxe Edition or a standalone full game. The original Steam release is free.
