Hammer & Shield Battlegroup DLC – two battlegroups for Company of Heroes 3
The Hammer & Shield Battlegroup DLC, released on Apr 14, 2026, adds two additional battlegroups to the Steam version of Company of Heroes 3 for multiplayer matches, co-op and battles against AI. The US Advanced Infantry Rangers can become a versatile elite unit with extra weapons. With the Italian coastal defence, the Wehrmacht instead relies on reservists, fortifications and heavy artillery.
Not identical to the old expansion
The DLC replaces the Hammer & Shield Expansion, released in 2023 and delisted in March 2026. The new version includes the two battlegroups, but no longer the previous exclusive cosmetic packs or the British Air and Sea campaign company that was once included. The latter is now available for free in the updated main game.
The new DLC requires the PC base game Company of Heroes 3. When comparing, check the Steam activation and the exact name; console stores still sell the original expansion with different content.
