Brutal old-school action in 1990s Osaka

COP BASTARD is an uncompromising first-person shooter that sends you as the embittered police officer Katashi through early-1990s Osaka. Nightclubs, grimy backyards and industrial halls become narrow shooting galleries, where armed yakuza are already waiting behind the next corner. Grainy VHS effects, brutal gunfights and a style shaped by old action films make the game a deliberately direct return to the classic PC shooter.

Shoot, dodge and slow down time

A pistol, shotgun and other weapons provide the firepower needed for short, dangerous firefights. Instead of skill trees, loot systems or complex puzzles, the focus is on positioning, quick reactions and taking out enemies in time. Hits and aggressive actions fill a special bar: you can use its energy to regain health through the grotesque spit attack on defeated enemies, or for a slow-motion effect that gives you breathing room in crowded rooms.

COP BASTARD on Steam and GOG

The single-player shooter launches for Windows PC on October 29, 2026 via Steam and DRM-free on GOG. The indie developer targim. is working with publisher Retrovibe on the release. The Steam listing confirms German menu text and subtitles as well as English voice acting. A free demo is available; it is not a standalone paid base game or DLC.
