Escape Sequence: Synthwave racing on endless highways
Escape Sequence by One Mind Games is an arcade racing game in the style of classic 1980s highway games. On a neon-lit coastal road you chase points, dodge traffic and keep driving despite wind, rain, hairpin bends and surprising rivals. Unlike the Sokoban puzzle game of the same name by Sid Fish Games from 2021, this 2026 Steam release is a standalone racing game.
Near misses, rivals and procedural tracks
Close overtakes increase the point multiplier. Drafting behind other vehicles gives you speed, while aggressive AI drivers try to overtake you or even collide with traffic. The highway curves, weather and traffic patterns are generated from a reproducible seed. You can drive endlessly, race against time limits, or use the same route seed for direct competition.
Solo, LAN and online duels
The game offers single-player runs, public online lobbies, private Steam invites and local split-screen PvP for up to four drivers. The developers name six vehicle models, synthetic Synthwave music and an optional CRT look. The Steam full release took place on Sep 25, 2026 (App ID 4965510), after an Early Access phase from August 2026. The Windows version requires at least Windows 10 (64-bit), a dual-core processor at 2 GHz, 4 GB RAM, a Vulkan-capable graphics unit and 500 MB storage. Nine languages are available for the interface, including German.
