Neighbor: Lingering Memories – the playable side story
Lingering Memories Side-Story expands the Japanese horror visual novel Neighbor with a story of its own. You take on the role of occult journalist Andou, whom his boss sends to investigate a suspicious apartment. In Room 103 of Maebara Heights, people are said to have vanished without a trace. Soon the supposed assignment turns into a nightmare.
More of your own choices than in the main game
While Neighbor tells its story linearly, this expansion lets you investigate for yourself which clues to follow and how you react to mysterious events. The mix of interactive investigation, escape-game elements and eerie storytelling reveals background that is only hinted at in the main game. The story picks up at the same location and shines a light on a side character from a new perspective.
Standalone Steam DLC, not a full game
The PC expansion, released on Oct 31, 2018, requires the Steam version of Neighbor (App 937490). It offers English text and original Japanese voice acting with subtitles.
