Potato Please: Potato peeling as a quirky work simulation
In Potato Please, you face a seemingly simple task: prepare potatoes for a hungry army. In front of you lie a knife, a water bucket and a large pile of tubers. But the monotonous kitchen job gradually turns into a simulation of work processes, upgrades and automation. The story takes place in an explicitly fictional state and satirises its working world with dry humour.
Every potato counts
At the start, you pick up the potatoes yourself, peel them and throw them into the water. Peeling is physics-based: you move the knife and try to cut as thinly as possible rather than removing too much of the potato. The activity is deliberately repetitive and combines dexterity with a relaxed, unusual gameplay rhythm.
Upgrade tools and automate processes
As you progress, you unlock better tools. What starts as pure manual work gradually develops into a more capable setup. You can handle larger volumes, use machines and automate work processes. The appeal comes from the contrast between the tiny individual task and the ever-larger system you build from it.
The PC version
Golden Horn Studios released Potato Please on Nov 3, 2026 for Windows via Steam. The single-player game supports controllers, Steam achievements and cloud saves. The Steam interface is available in 19 languages, including German. The developer offers several Steam bundles with other standalone games.
