Unshine Arcade – Roguelite shooter meets psychological arcade horror

In Unshine Arcade you enter an abandoned arcade, where the flashing machines are far less harmless than they look. Behind the glass of the prize cabinet sits a mysterious virtual pet that asks you for help. To free it, you need to win enough tickets. But soon the arcade raises disturbing questions: why does one particular machine keep luring you back, who is behind it, and what has happened here?

Stealth shooter and roguelite in one arcade cabinet

The core is a fast-paced roguelite with stealth and shooting mechanics from a top-down view. You fight your way through procedurally generated levels and try to earn as many tickets as possible on each run. Coloured gacha balls and unlockable upgrades change what you can do. Between runs, you explore the abandoned arcade from a first-person view, use the claw machine and discover new clues about the story.

A horror mystery with real meta-progression

Dutch solo developer Mart Snijders, known as mardt, combines action with an ongoing psychological horror story. Unlike pure endless runs, the tickets you earn let you make progress piece by piece outside the arcade game. Behind the neon lights, virtual characters and unusual machines lie dark secrets that you can uncover without spoilers.

PC version, languages and additional content

Unshine Arcade has been available on Steam for Windows since Sep 28, 2026. A free demo is also available and does not count as a standalone DLC. The PC version supports controllers and six languages for interface, audio and subtitles: English, Dutch, Japanese, Polish, simplified Chinese and Russian. Steam does not currently list a German localization.

The separately available Unshine Arcade Soundtrack by Daniel Veld is a music add-on and not a standalone game.
