KickBeat for PlayStation Vita is the native handheld version of Zen Studios’ rhythm kung fu game. In a 3D arena, enemies attack from several sides. Your punches and kicks must match the music and enemy movements: precise timing makes the fighters battle like a choreographed fight scene, while mistakes break your attack chain.

Story, music and custom rhythm levels

The campaign combines hard-hitting tracks by Pendulum, Celldweller and Blue Stahli, among others, with hand-drawn cutscenes and varied arenas. The “Beat Your Music” mode adds extra levels with their own music. Training and various challenges help you practise precise rhythm control.

Original release and Cross-Buy

In Europe, the PS Vita version was released on Sep 11, 2013 at the same time as a standalone PlayStation 3 version. Sony announced Cross-Buy between the two systems at the time: one supported license applied to both original versions. The later PS4, Xbox One and Wii U editions came with the Special Edition label, but they are not PS Vita upgrades.
