Organ Trail: Director’s Cut turns the classic trek west into a journey through the zombie apocalypse. You steer a small group in an old station wagon through the USA, collect supplies along the way and try to survive hunger, disease, bandits and the undead. Every decision about ammo, food, gas and medical supplies can have deadly consequences for your companions.
Resources, events and retro pixel graphics
In towns you can trade, repair the vehicle and upgrade equipment. In between, random encounters, decisions with consequences, fights against zombies and a weather and time-of-day mechanic await. The deliberately rough Apple II graphics and dark humour give the mix of survival, strategy and short action sequences its own character.
The console version with expansions
This version was released as Organ Trail Complete Edition and includes the original Director’s Cut game, including Endless Expansion and Final Cut Expansion. This means the endless mode, extra routes, vehicles and characters, as well as local co-op battles, are already part of the included game. It is not a standalone new game compared with the Director’s Cut base, but the same experience with bundled additional content.
The PlayStation Vita version was also released in Europe in August 2016. Sony explicitly lists the Vita version as part of the cross-platform Complete Edition purchase and describes the handheld controls with touchscreen as well as a local ad-hoc mode. The game was released natively for PS Vita and is not equivalent to mere PS4 backward compatibility.
