Worms is the turn-based artillery strategy game from Team17, released in 1995. Several teams of small worms fight on two-dimensional, destructible landscapes. When it’s your turn, you find the right angle for the bazooka or grenade, take wind and terrain into account, and try to eliminate enemy worms or knock them into the water. Unusual weapons, mines and exploding sheep also bring absurd twists.
Strategy on shifting battlefields
Every hit can destroy cover and change the map. You can play alone against computer-controlled teams or play locally with others. The changing terrain and the limited time per turn make every match a new tactical experiment. This is the first main series entry, not Worms 2, Worms Armageddon or Worms Reloaded.
Original PlayStation version
This version is the original PlayStation version on PS1 media, not the later digital PS4/PS5 emulation. It was released in 1995 for the original PlayStation. The historical features differ from the later digital re-releases.
