Imp of the Sun is a hand-drawn action platformer about Nin, a small goblin from the last spark of the sun god. Four powerful Guardians have stolen its light and covered the realm in eternal eclipse. Nin sets out to defeat the Guardians and bring back the light.
Peruvian-inspired world
Between Andean peaks, dense Amazon forest, rugged deserts and a dark underworld, you explore four large regions. You can take on the Guardians in any order you choose, unlock new abilities and discover hidden paths. Collected quipus – traditional knotted cords – tell the backstory and tie the game to motifs from Andean cultures.
Agile combat and dark challenges
Nin uses his inner fire for nimble movement and combo attacks. Five special bosses require you to learn their attack patterns. If you want an extra challenge, play the Eclipse mode, where the areas start out fully in darkness. The game has a single-player mode, but no online PvP or co-op.
The PlayStation 4 version
The native PS4 version came out on Mar 24, 2022, alongside the PS5 version. It includes the full adventure, including the freely chosen route to the Guardians and the Eclipse mode. The PlayStation Store lists German on-screen text; for PS5 there is a separate catalogue entry.
