Mr. DRILLER DrillLand is a colorful action puzzle game that brings back the Japanese GameCube classic from 2002 as a modernized version with HD cutscenes. The setting is DrillLand, an unusual amusement park 500 meters underground. Instead of roller coasters, five playable attractions await you, in which you drill through stacks of colorful blocks. Each attraction changes the rules and puts different obstacles, goals and enemies in your way.

Dig, combine and keep an eye on air

The basic principle is quickly learned: you remove individual blocks, trigger chain reactions and clear a path into deeper layers. But careless decisions can bring whole block formations down. At the same time your air supply runs down, so you have to weigh up speed, safe paths and collecting air capsules. The different attractions add their own tasks, hazards and boss fights to the principle. The further you get, the more skill and foresight are required.

Single-player, multiplayer and casual mode

You can take on the challenges alone or compete with up to three other players in competitive multiplayer modes. Besides local rounds, there are online competitions. For an easier start, the new edition offers a casual mode, while the classic difficulty keeps the more demanding character of the original. The playful cartoon look, varied mini-games and short but increasingly tricky rounds make DrillLand interesting for both quick sessions and longer high-score hunts.

Native PS4 version

Since Nov 3, 2021, the modernized DrillLand version has also been available on PlayStation 4 in Europe. The digital purchase on the PlayStation Store includes both playable versions for PS4 and PS5, but does not replace a separate platform listing. The PS4 edition offers single-player, competitive matches with up to four players locally and optional online play with a matching PS Plus membership. The dialogue is voiced in Japanese, with on-screen text available in German among other languages.
