Pistol Whip: VR shooter in time with electronic music
In Pistol Whip, every song becomes a fast-paced action sequence: you glide automatically through stylized, neon-colored locations and take out enemies from a first-person perspective with precise shots. At the same time you dodge projectiles, duck, lean your torso past obstacles and use your pistols at close range. Rhythmically timed hits increase your points, but you can also play the levels like classic shooter scenes.
Weapon skins, leaderboards and film campaigns
In the Styles system you adjust weapons, aim assist and other game rules to your taste, while leaderboards and daily challenges keep you coming back. The cinematic campaigns 2089 and Smoke & Thunder take you to a gloomy science fiction future and the Wild West respectively. Music from artists such as Apashe, HVDES and Black Tiger Sex Machine gives the battles their pulse. This rhythm action game from Cloudhead Games can only be played with suitable VR hardware.
PlayStation VR for PS4
The original console version was released on July 30, 2020 on PlayStation 4 after a short delay. This native version requires the original PlayStation VR headset, the PlayStation Camera and PlayStation Move controllers; standard TV screen controls are not supported. Sony keeps the PS4 on-screen text in English. The PlayStation Store license, now offered as cross-buy, includes the technically separate PS5/PS VR2 version: the download entitlement links the purchases, not the native platform releases.
