With Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 3, Bandai Namco’s tactical mecha combat series enters a new round on PS5. You face other pilots in large-scale online team battles, pilot iconic Mobile Suits from various Gundam timelines and work with your team to control strategic points on the battlefield. The game focuses on detailed combat machines, reworked environments and combining battles in the cockpit and on the ground.
Tactics in Mobile Suit and on foot
Each unit has its own weapons, strengths in close or long-range combat and special abilities. New are the SP skills, which put more emphasis on a Mobile Suit’s tactical role. During combat you can leave the cockpit, sabotage enemy positions, call in fire support or secure mission objectives as infantry. The Battle Assist system and the revised user interface help you execute complex maneuvers.
Free-to-play, cross-play and Gundam universes
At launch, machines from the classic Universal Century world and from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED are planned. More series are to be added after release. Between missions, players meet in a shared base camp. The PS5 version is meant to be cross-playable with the Steam version. The base game is free to play but offers optional paid content. Bandai Namco has not yet announced a release date.
