Astria Ascending – hand-drawn fantasy role-playing game

In Astria Ascending, a group of eight chosen demigods travels through Orcanon to preserve the threatened balance of their world. Their story revolves around fate, willingness to sacrifice and the question of what remains of a heroism whose end is already foreseeable. Explore five large cities, temples and dungeons full of fantastic creatures.

Turn-based combat and class changes

You assemble your battle group of eight characters with individual abilities and customize it through 20 character classes and different equipment. Over 200 enemy types, the tactical focus points system and summonable creatures keep battles varied. Alongside the story, puzzles, side quests and the fantasy card game J-Ster add variety.

Music, graphics and languages

The hand-drawn 2D scenes are brought to life by animations and changing weather. The composer Hitoshi Sakimoto contributed to the music. The dialogue comes with English and Japanese audio; the interface is also playable in German. The adventure is a pure single-player role-playing game.

Native Xbox One version

The game was also released for Xbox One on September 30, 2021. Microsoft lists Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S under a Smart Delivery offer but explicitly confirms both native console versions.
