Slay the Princess – Choices between Fear and Trust
At the end of a forest path a cabin awaits. A voice tells you that you must kill the princess locked inside to save the world. In Slay the Princess by Black Tabby Games, though, hardly any statement can be trusted. What you say, how you act and whom you trust changes the shape of those you face, opens new storylines and lets you experience the same place in ever different situations. The black-and-white, hand-drawn illustrations by Abby Howard meet English voices by Jonathan Sims and Nichole Goodnight.
Multiple paths, new chapters and a different ending
The branching horror visual novel combines psychological horror, dark comedy and surprisingly tender moments. Each playthrough reveals further perspectives on the princess and the narrator. The The Pristine Cut update added three chapters, numerous additional illustrations, longer routes, a new ending and a gallery. On PC this expansion has been included free in the standard base game since October 2024; for consoles the full version was released directly. The story is intended for adults and contains strong violence.
Xbox One with Smart Delivery
The native Xbox One version was released on Oct 24, 2024. Microsoft offers Xbox One and a version optimized for Xbox Series X|S under the same digital license with Smart Delivery, although they are separate console builds. The solo adventure offers German text and English voices. The German Microsoft Store rates the horror story USK 18.
