What is A Bird Story?
A Bird Story is a short, wordless pixel art story. A boy discovers an injured bird and looks after it. Everyday encounters grow into an adventure of about an hour, in which fantasy and reality blend together.
Freebird Games combines small playable scenes with animated passages. Instead of combat, dialogue choices or an open world, the focus is on visuals and music.

Gameplay
You explore small locations and follow the story through simple interactions. The flow alternates between freely controlled moments and staged pixel animations. The visual style recalls classic RPGs without adopting their complex combat or progression systems.
A long quest list or a competitive multiplayer mode are not part of the concept. The encounters between the boy and the bird set the rhythm.

Pixel animation instead of dialogue
A Bird Story tells its story through movement, visuals and music. The characters don't talk to each other. Small changes to the environment and animated scenes convey what the boy experiences or imagines.
The original soundtrack accompanies the story, while the graphics recall classic 2D RPGs. Gameplay actions are part of the staging, not the goal of an extensive progression system.

How long is A Bird Story?
The story takes about an hour. It is designed as a self-contained short adventure with few distractions. The pace comes from individual scenes and the switch between interactive and animated sections.
A Bird Story is therefore better suited to a single session than a long playthrough with multiple storylines.
