What are the amber storms?

The amber storms transform living beings and threaten entire landscapes. At the same time, they leave behind precious amber, on which the inhabitants of the worlds have come to depend. Mako explores the affected regions and tries to find out how the spread can be stopped. The danger shapes both the story and the enemies you encounter.

One staff for combat and exploration

Mako's red bird can transform into a staff. As a weapon, it enables attack chains on the ground and in the air, and can be thrown and recalled. Outside of combat, it helps with gliding, climbing and overcoming other obstacles. New abilities make it a key to further exploring the game world.

Parkour and platforming sections

Mako can climb along walls, slide down steep slopes and glide through the air. Switching between movement types is part of the level design. Some sections can only be reached after learning a new staff ability. In this way, the number of traversable routes grows as the adventure progresses.

The larger enemies demand more than ordinary attack combos. Akatori includes multi-phase fights as well as special encounters with movement- or rhythm-based tasks. Escape sequences underwater are also among the announced challenges. Each encounter requires you to use Mako's movement and her staff in different ways.
