Arizona Sunshine (2027)

Arizona Sunshine (2027) is a standalone third-person version of Vertigo Games' zombie action series. The survivor Sunny travels through Arizona with his dog Buddy. Unlike the earlier VR versions, this game was designed for conventional screens.

The story builds on characters and themes from Arizona Sunshine VR 2. It is not the VR remake that was already released in 2024.

Vertigo Games has announced Jan 21, 2027 as the release date. The company published the specific date on Oct 13, 2026, through its official Steam news channel. The game is still before its sales launch.

The title is developed by Vertigo Studios, and the publisher is Vertigo Games. The standalone PC version has the Steam app ID 4308420.

Arizona Sunshine (2027) was announced for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. On PC, Steam and the Epic Games Store are planned as distribution channels.

The Steam page lists Windows 10 and Windows 11 as system requirements. A separate native release for Linux, macOS, PlayStation 4, Xbox One or the original Switch is not confirmed.

The reimagining shows the action from a third-person camera. The focus is a narrated journey through Arizona, fights with firearms and melee weapons, and customisable clothing and gear. The weapons shown include shotguns, machetes and flamethrowers.

Vertigo describes the game as a new version for conventional screens. It is therefore not a straight transfer of the previous VR controls.

The campaign can be played alone. Alternatively, two people can play online or together on one screen in local split-screen. In co-op, for the first time, you can control not only Sunny but also his dog Buddy directly.

Co-op is a core part of this version, not a time-limited extra mode. Steam also lists cross-platform multiplayer as a feature, without naming every console combination.

Alongside the standard version, Vertigo Games has announced a Deluxe Edition. It additionally includes the Arizona Sunshine Legacy DLC Pack with a version of the original campaign, plus the expansions Dead Man and The Damned. The cosmetic packs Neon Wastelander and Fred’s Fashion Pack are also announced.

The contents of the Deluxe Edition should be distinguished from the standalone VR remake from 2024. Time-limited pre-order discounts are not permanent features of the game.

The Steam version supports German text and subtitles. According to the store, voice audio is currently listed for English only. Windows 10 and Windows 11 are listed as supported operating systems. Detailed information on processor, RAM and graphics card is still missing.
