Battlestar Galactica Deadlock

Battlestar Galactica Deadlock is a tactical space game in which you lead the Colonial Fleet against the Cylons. Instead of directly controlling individual fighters, you plan the movements and attacks of entire task forces. The story takes place during the First Cylon War.

Battlestar Galactica Deadlock was released for PC on Aug 31, 2017. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One followed on Dec 8, 2017, and Nintendo Switch on Oct 8, 2019. Since Nov 15, 2025, official stores no longer sell the base game and its expansions.

The strategy game was released natively for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. No separate version was released for PS5, Xbox Series X|S or Switch 2. The Switch version includes the base game, not the later PC and console expansions.

The WEGO combat system lets you set course, targets and actions for several ships. Both sides then carry out their orders at the same time. This means you have to plan trajectories ahead and account for where enemy ships will move in the next turn.

The expansions added new spaceships, missions and campaigns. The Broken Alliance added its own storyline and four ships. Further releases such as Sin and Sacrifice, Resurrection, Ghost Fleet Offensive, Anabasis and Armistice extended the game over several years. Only the base game was released for Nintendo Switch.

The PC version lists at least a processor with 2.0 GHz, 4 GB RAM, a GeForce 460 or Radeon HD 5770 with 1 GB graphics memory and DirectX 11. The recommended configuration calls for 2.5 GHz, 8 GB RAM and a GeForce GTX 770 or Radeon HD 7970. Storage requirements are about 8.7 GB.

After a Cylon attack on the Fleet High Command at Picon, defence of the Twelve Colonies falls to Rear Admiral Lucinda Cain. From the mobile shipyard Daidalos, she organises new fleets and tries to turn the stalled war in humanity's favour.

The Colonial Fleet includes Manticore corvettes and Jupiter-class battlestars, among others. Viper squadrons and Raptor reconnaissance craft handle smaller tasks. Which ships you combine and where you position them decides whether a task force survives enemy salvos.

Between battles, you recruit officers, build warships and move task forces between colonies. The strategic layer requires defending several worlds while new units and equipment are prepared for upcoming missions.

Cylon Raider squadrons, base ships and cruise missiles attack from different distances. Boarding parties and electronic attacks increase the pressure on your fleets. That makes escort cover, defensive angles and the use of different ship types important.

Alongside the campaign, there are online battles between two players. On PC, Steam lists both online PvP and online co-op as features. The Switch version offers online matches, for which Nintendo requires the relevant online membership.

AutoCam mode shows completed battles from a cinematic perspective. This lets you review how simultaneous orders played out, rather than only seeing the final win or loss.

Battlestar Galactica Deadlock and all expansions were removed from official sale on Nov 15, 2025. If you already own the game, you can keep playing it without restrictions, according to Slitherine. No reason for ending sales was given.

The PC version supports a German interface and German subtitles. Voice-over is in English. Slitherine adapted the interface for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to controller input. On Nintendo Switch, German, English and French are among the available languages.
