What is Blighted?

Blighted is a psychedelic Western Metroidvania action RPG from DrinkBox Studios, the team behind Guacamelee! and Nobody Saves the World. After your village is destroyed, you hunt Sorcisto through a world warped by the Blight and try to recover your people's memories.

The world is built as one connected space, combining exploration, technically demanding combat, boss encounters and new abilities that open additional paths and secrets.

Gameplay

Blighted relies on methodical real-time combat. Attacks must be timed deliberately, enemy openings read, and combos and finishers linked sensibly. Defeated bosses leave behind memories, which unlock new ethereal abilities.

These powers open new paths, special challenges and hidden areas. The world links canyons, mines, towers and other surreally warped regions together.

The Blight system

The namesake Blight works as a dynamic risk and difficulty system. Successful play can make your character stronger, but a higher Blight value also changes enemy behaviour, abilities and parts of the environment.

This means progress is not only measured by classic stats: the better you play and the more you use the Blight, the more aggressively the world can turn against you.
