Broke Wizards

Broke Wizards is a co-op action adventure from 5TH Cell, the studio behind Scribblenauts. Up to six players take on a chaotic wizard flatshare that takes on jobs, earns money for rent and has to stop their huge Imp landlord from eating them.

The tone is deliberately silly: the group saves places from monsters, races around on magical ravens, plays Prop Hunt or takes on other absurd side jobs. Between missions, the shared flat can be used as a social play space.

The Steam version of Broke Wizards is currently scheduled for Oct 29, 2026. A playable demo is already available. 5TH Cell is also promoting the game via its own website, which links to the PC stores Steam and Epic Games Store.

The currently verifiable Steam release date is the deciding one by design: other store metadata is not generalised to a cross-platform release date as long as the details are not aligned.

Broke Wizards is announced for Windows PC. On its official game page, 5TH Cell links to both Steam and the Epic Games Store. Console versions are not announced in the currently verified official sources.

The structure revolves around changing gig jobs. These include monster fights, exploration, races, Prop Hunt and smaller minigames. In combat missions, defeating enemies isn't the only thing that counts: if the group destroys too much of the environment, the pay is lower.

Outside of jobs, players can watch videos together, play instruments, play tag, compete in a PvP arena or simply experiment with the physics and objects in the world. Difficulty options are meant to suit different play styles.

For the minimum configuration, 5TH Cell lists a Ryzen 5 5600 or Intel Core i5-12400, 8 GB RAM and a GeForce GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 580 on Windows 10. Recommended on Windows 11 are a Ryzen 7 or Intel Core i7, 16 GB RAM and an RTX 3060 Ti/3070 or RX 6700 XT. Both profiles list 4 GB of free storage.

Online, Broke Wizards supports up to six players. Public and private lobbies as well as built-in voice chat are part of the announced feature set. Players who prefer not to play in a group can also play the PC version alone offline, according to Steam.

Progress is collected through Magic Keys. Exploring, jobs, puzzles and even paying the rent earn keys. The goal is to eventually use them to open the chest with the title deed and get rid of the Imp landlord.

Wizards can also be customized with hoodies, hats, wings and Magic Boards. Pocketdragon eggs you find can be hatched and provide small companions.
