Bubble Bobble 4 Friends

Bubble Bobble 4 Friends is TAITO's modern main-series entry in the action puzzle classic Bubble Bobble. Bub and his friends trap enemies in bubbles, burst them, and use the physics of the bubbles to get through compact arcade stages.

The main campaign includes 100 stages and can be played locally with up to four players. Depending on the version, additional modes are included such as the original arcade version, The Baron is Back! and, on PC, the Workshop mode.

Bubble Bobble 4 Friends is already available for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4; the PC version The Baron's Workshop released on Sep 30, 2021. On Feb 25, 2027 the new Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of The Baron is Back! follows, including the additional area Stardrop Mountain.

According to TAITO, owners of the Switch version can get the Switch 2 content via an upgrade pass.

The family includes versions for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC. The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, releasing Feb 25, 2027, is a separate native Switch 2 release; TAITO is announcing it digitally and offers an upgrade pass for owners of the Switch version.

Enemies are trapped in bubbles and then burst. Since bubbles are carried by the wind and can also serve as platforms, the game combines arcade action with small positioning and timing puzzles. Up to four players can move together through the story stages and build point combos by bursting groups of enemies.

Stardrop Mountain is the new area of the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. It introduces vertically scrolling stages to this part of the series for the first time and features a storybook world with new enemies and its own gimmicks. TAITO describes the area as an additional section of play to the existing The Baron is Back! version.

On Nintendo Switch 2, the game gets a display at 1920 × 1080 pixels. In addition, the edition supports a camera feature: with a compatible USB camera, players' faces can be shown in the bubbles in the game.
