What is Chivalware?
Chivalware is a fast action roguelite with grid-based battles and coloured combination tiles. It is developed by Regal Pigeon Games, and the official stores name The Arcade Crew and Dotemu, among others, as publishers. The Disk Knight travels through a kingdom whose king has ruled in isolation for years. On the way to the castle, the game world hints at a technical fault behind the fairytale surface.
The core gameplay is not a turn-based puzzle game. Enemies attack in real time, while movement on a grid and combining tile colours control your own attack.

Release
For the native Nintendo Switch 2 version, Nintendo's own store lists Nov 5, 2026 as the planned release date. This is a specific date for this standalone Switch 2 product.
Steam still lists the Windows PC version only for Q4 2026, without a confirmed calendar day. The two details are therefore treated separately. A free PC demo is already listed on Steam; its date is not the release of the full game.

Platforms
Confirmed are Nintendo Switch 2 and Windows PC. Nintendo lists Chivalware as a standalone Switch 2 game for one player with TV, tabletop and handheld modes, plus German text language. For PC, Steam also lists a single-player version with controller support.
A standalone release for the original Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, macOS or Linux is not confirmed in these official store details. The Switch 2 listing should not be equated with simple backward compatibility.

Gameplay
Up to three equipped weapon discs each have a colour. Combining matching tiles on the combat card charges energy for the corresponding weapon. At the same time, the Disk Knight must dodge projectiles and direct enemy attacks, because battles do not pause while you make combinations.
This leads to quick decisions: Which combination can you reach without running into the next attack? When is it worth taking the shot, and when should you change position? The publisher's description calls this interplay the core of the action.

Weapons and upgrades
The Arcade Crew and Nintendo cite more than 80 weapons and over 150 upgrades. Weapons have different attack patterns and are activated by the colors of the tiles; new combinations and permanent unlocks change the possibilities of later attempts.
The demo developer messages also mention chips, processors and options for dismantling unneeded loot. Such decisions are meant to shape playstyle more, rather than requiring the same equipment chain every time.

Playable knights and worlds
Publisher The Arcade Crew promotes five playable knights with different traits. These include the close-combat Tank Knight and the Jester Knight, whose hit strength is tied to a skillfully intercepted pin.
The full game is announced with four biomes and additional challenge levels. Failing ends an attempt, but unlocks open up further options. The Nintendo Store also lists several boss enemies and new encounters across the four areas.
