What is Crazy Taxi: World Tour?
Crazy Taxi: World Tour is a new main entry in SEGA's arcade series. Once again, the goal is to get passengers to their destinations through open city areas as quickly and spectacularly as possible. Rather than being limited to a single metropolis, World Tour sends driver Axel on a journey through several cities around the globe.
This reboot of the concept combines the familiar time pressure with larger areas, varied missions and new online modes. The basic principle deliberately stays simple: pick up a passenger, read the destination, find the wildest possible route and, along the way, use risky stunts to earn extra time and money.

Gameplay
World Tour keeps the classic Crazy Taxi principle of open city areas, reckless shortcuts and a constantly running time limit. Axel and other drivers can send cars through traffic with jumps, drifts and aggressive stunts, while different city layouts offer their own routes and driving challenges.
The story mode takes players through cities inspired by real regions. For Germany, SEGA shows autobahns, cathedrals and castles, among other things. The Japan map, playable at the Tokyo Game Show 2026, comes after Germany in the campaign according to the demo and is already a bit more demanding. It condenses scenes from Shibuya, Asakusa and a Bay Area-style zone into a compact arcade city.
In the hands-on, the typical series rhythm is clearly recognizable: The Offspring plays on the radio, ordinary cars are forced out of the way, and passengers react positively to drifts, jumps and other deliberately risky stunts. There are also special missions and local characters that are more tailored to each location.
For the first time, the series also offers online multiplayer for up to six players. In the Pickup Race, drivers deliver passengers in direct competition. Police Chase splits the group into taxi and police teams and turns the usual ride into a pursuit duel. Both modes can be played as ranked or custom matches. An additional Classic Mode carries the traditional series principle over to the new maps and driving mechanics.

Locations of the world trip
The single-player campaign takes Axel through five country or regional maps in total. SEGA has so far shown Germany, Japan and Brazil in more detail, among others. Brazil is the fourth of the five maps in the planned World Tour.
According to SEGA, the new Brazilian location combines dense neighborhoods with open coastal sections and clearly distinguishable street scenes. Stores such as Habib's, Fogo de Chão and Fast Shop are set to appear as real landmarks in the game world. The names are part of the setting and are not a confirmed special gameplay mechanic.
The game world is not one single connected world map: each region provides its own driving area for the established arcade principle. What the fifth map is and how large the individual maps will be is not yet fully known from this announcement.

Game series
Crazy Taxi launched in arcades in 1999 and later became best known through the Dreamcast version. The series stands for fast passenger deliveries, open city routes, deliberately exaggerated driving physics and a loud rock soundtrack.
World Tour is not a remaster of an older entry but a standalone new installment. SEGA is developing and publishing the game itself and, for the first time, adds online multiplayer to a formula that has so far been mostly solo.
