What is Cronos: Lazarus?

Cronos: Lazarus is the major story expansion for Cronos: The New Dawn. It remains a DLC but has a standalone campaign with a different protagonist, its own mechanics and four native platforms.

You play the younger Pathfinder, who later becomes known as the Warden. Cut off from the Collective, he pursues a personal mission: to revive a lost Essence, while the Collective sends a hunter specifically after him.

Gameplay

Compared to the main game, Lazarus shifts the focus noticeably toward more offensive combat. The Pathfinder can quickly reposition in combat and across the environment with Teleportation. With the Decoy, a hologram is left behind while the player turns invisible for a short time and can lure enemies away.

The new Gladius weapon is a faster and significantly stronger version of the well-known Dagger concept. At the same time, the expansion introduces a persistent tracker that the Collective developed specifically to hunt the Pathfinder. Despite the higher pace, according to Bloober Team the expansion stays anchored in the survival horror foundation.

Game series

Lazarus is neither a sequel nor a standalone game, but the first major story DLC for Cronos: The New Dawn. In terms of content, it tells the backstory of the Warden and deliberately fills a key gap in the Cronos universe.
