Crossy Road Rush

Crossy Road Rush is a skill game with fast obstacle courses and the characters from the Crossy Road series. On Crossy Cove island, an angry Octoboss has devastated the area. Players race through courses, rescue friends and gradually open up more areas.

Unlike the original Crossy Road, it is not just about hopping across roads at the right moment. Here, jumps, wall runs, rails and destructible obstacles are part of the movement repertoire. The short runs are meant to motivate you to repeat them and improve your own times and scores.

Crossy Road Rush was released on Nov 5, 2026 via Apple Arcade. Hipster Whale is publishing the skill game for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. Apple Vision support is listed on the App Store. The game is part of the Apple Arcade subscription.

Crossy Road Rush is intended for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. The App Store also lists support for Apple Vision. On Mac the game needs macOS 14.0 or later. On iPhone and iPad, iOS or iPadOS 17.2 or later is required, on Apple TV tvOS 17.0 and on Apple Vision visionOS 2.0.

The macOS version belongs to Apple Arcade. A Windows version or a Steam release is not connected to it.

Characters can dodge sideways, jump, run along walls and use rails. Spikes, moving obstacles, enemies and destructible crates require quick changes of direction. Successful actions can be chained into combos that raise your score.

Some sections rely on precise jumps over chasms, others on finding the right path through closely packed obstacles. At certain points, boss battles interrupt the pace of the courses.

On iPhone at least iOS 17.2 is required, on iPad iPadOS 17.2 and on Mac macOS 14.0. For Apple TV tvOS 17.0 applies, and for Apple Vision visionOS 2.0 is the minimum version. The App Store gives a download size of around 1 GB. This may change with updates.

The App Store lists 14 languages, including German and English.

Adventure mode features more than 50 specially designed levels. On the courses you can earn stars, unlock new boards and discover secrets. The journey takes you across Crossy Cove, whose residents are affected by the consequences of the Octoboss attack.

Progress is not just about better scores. Rescued characters and newly unlocked content also change the island overview, according to the developer.

Survival mode is for players who want to last as long as possible and reach high scores. Challenges change daily. Players who keep their combos going over longer sections can compare their results with other players on global leaderboards.

Up to four players can play together, both locally and online. In co-op they share a common pool of lives. Anyone who makes mistakes on a difficult run affects the survival chances of the whole group.

Controller support is planned. The App Store also lists Game Center and SharePlay.

At launch there are 16 unlockable characters, 40 hats and twelve boards. Besides the well-known chicken, more characters from the Crossy Road world appear. Collecting is part of progress in Adventure mode and, according to Hipster Whale, unlocks additional animations on the island overview.

The game is designed for short, fast runs. The controls include free dodging, jumping, wall runs and movement on rails. Besides direct control on supported devices, compatible gamepads can be used, including controllers from the PlayStation and Xbox ecosystems.

Hipster Whale is planning additional themed islands and challenges. Daily changing missions and survival runs are already part of the game at launch.
