What is Dice A Million?

Dice A Million is a solo roguelike by countlessnights that replaces card building with a bag of special dice. Different dice and equipped rings reinforce each other. The goal of a run is one million points and escaping a dice factory. Bosses, rising debt and shifting paths call for matching combinations.

Dice A Million released on February 25, 2026 for Windows and macOS. On September 4, 2026, native versions followed for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Android, along with the large free content update Uncommon Shapes 1.1.

The iOS version is now available on the App Store. The iOS launch, originally also planned for early September, was delayed according to the developer. Therefore its actual first release date is not yet reliably documented. A native PS4 or Switch 2 version is not confirmed.

Verified native platforms are Windows/macOS as a shared PC version, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Android and iOS/iPadOS. The Switch version also runs on Switch 2 via compatibility; a separate native Switch 2 version is not confirmed. Current German PlayStation Store pages list only PS5, not PS4.

The platform stores list Dice A Million as a single-player game. On PC there is controller support and a German interface; Nintendo and PlayStation also list German.

Gameplay

Every run revolves around improving a bag of dice in a targeted way. Thrown numbers are altered by special dice effects and passive rings. Instead of just collecting high individual values, the aim is to build chain reactions. Rising debt and bosses make a coherent build more important than sheer luck.

The current Steam version features more than 140 dice with special effects, over 90 rings and eleven different hands with their own starting rules. Random routes, many unlocks and several endings change the challenges between runs. The free update 1.1 added, among other things, 17 dice, twelve rings and new dice shapes.

System requirements

Steam lists for Windows a processor at 2.0 GHz, 1 GB memory, a graphics unit with 1 GB memory and 300 MB free storage. The game listings also cover older Windows versions, but installation and updates follow the current OS requirements of the Steam client.

The Mac requirements list at least macOS 11 Big Sur, an Intel or Apple Silicon processor, 1 GB RAM, 4 GB graphics memory and 300 MB free storage. The Steam Deck rating is “Playable”, not “Verified”.

Controls and accessibility

Steam documents full controller support, saving at any time, adjustable volume, a mouse-only option and playability without time-critical quick-time events. The developers also revised the German translation and the dice physics behavior with version 1.1.

Uncommon Shapes: larger dice selection

The free update Uncommon Shapes 1.1 added 17 extra dice, twelve rings and another hand. The lasting system expansions include unusual dice shapes and weights that make certain results more likely. The dice table simulation and controller controls were also reworked.

The standalone game was developed by countlessnights. On Steam the PC version lists 2 Left Thumbs as publisher; the German PlayStation Store names COUNTLESSNIGHTS S.L. as publisher of the PS5 version. These platform roles refer to the same game and do not establish a separate series.
