Gameplay
A match begins with a stack of randomly selected hexagonal tiles. Players place cards one after another on the landscape and rotate them so that forests, fields, rails or waters fit together. Good connections earn points. When the stack is empty, the match ends.

The Medieval Biome Pack was released on Jun 2, 2026. It adds three medieval biomes with castles, half-timbered houses, a trading ship and two music tracks. The game rules and difficulty level remain unchanged.

Game modes
In creative mode, you can design landscapes without being limited by the card stack. For shorter matches, there is quick mode, and for trickier decisions, hard mode. A custom mode allows your own rules and sharing of settings.

Tasks and new landscapes
Some tiles set small building tasks. The windmill wants to border grain fields, the locomotive needs a longer railway line and the deer needs an extensive forest. Players who meet these goals receive more cards and can unlock new biomes and landscape elements.

Single player and shared challenges
Dorfromantik is a single-player game. In custom mode, you can share settings and starting values so that different players can build landscapes under the same conditions. Building together in an ongoing match is not planned.
