DREDGE: Blackstone Key

Blackstone Key is an optional DLC for the fishing horror game DREDGE by Black Salt Games. It opens the workshop on Blackstone Isle. There, two pieces of equipment await: Arterial Engine and Sign of Ruin. The base game is required; the add-on has no standalone campaign.

Blackstone Key was released on Mar 30, 2023 alongside DREDGE for PC and consoles. Since Feb 27, 2025, the add-on can also be purchased on iOS and Android via the DREDGE app.

Blackstone Key is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. The official store pages list the content as a DLC that requires the respective main game. On iOS and Android, it is available as an in-app purchase in DREDGE. A standalone native Switch 2 version is not documented.

The DLC opens a locked workshop on Blackstone Isle. The two items available there are the Arterial Engine, an unusual ship engine, and the Sign of Ruin, a talisman. This is equipment for the existing game. The official content list does not promise a new region or standalone storyline.

Blackstone Key is a small gear DLC. Unlike The Pale Reach and The Iron Rig, which offer additional exploration content, it specifically unlocks a workshop and two items. On Steam, the add-on is offered individually and in various editions or DLC bundles. Check which content is included in a bundle at the respective store before buying.

To play, DREDGE is required on the same platform. The PC store lists at least Windows 10, an Intel Core i3-2100 or AMD Phenom II X4 965, 4 GB RAM and 2 GB free storage. These are the details from the DLC page, not additional requirements for a standalone game.

The mobile version supports touch controls and external controllers. According to the developer, there is no cross-platform save transfer between PC and mobile.

On iOS and Android, Blackstone Key is available as an in-app purchase in DREDGE. According to Black Salt Games, the three DLCs are available on mobile devices. Touchscreen or controller control is possible.
