EVERSPACE 2

EVERSPACE 2 is a single-player action RPG with spaceship combat, loot and a handcrafted game world. As clone pilot Adam Roslin, you explore Star Cluster 34, complete missions and get caught between outlaws and other power groups. Unlike the roguelike predecessor, the focus is on an interconnected campaign with permanent progression.

EVERSPACE 2 was released for PC on Apr 6, 2023. The full version followed the Early Access launch on Jan 18, 2021. The standalone versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S were released on Aug 15, 2023, and the Nintendo Switch 2 version on Aug 12, 2026.

EVERSPACE 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. The PC version supports Windows and macOS. On Steam Deck and Linux, it can be played via a compatibility layer. There is no standalone version for PS4, Xbox One or the original Nintendo Switch.

Combat takes place in real time and from the spaceship perspective. You dodge fire, use primary and secondary weapons, and combine your equipment with ship and pilot abilities. Enemy groups, dangerous environments and larger battles call for different tactics.

Titans adds large repeatable challenges around a Dreadnought and a Leviathan, plus new equipment. Wrath of the Ancients continues the story after the main campaign and adds four star systems, more tasks, equipment and the Okkar Wraith fighter. The Supporter Pack includes cosmetic customizations for ships.

On Windows, EVERSPACE 2 requires at least 8 GB RAM, an Intel Core i5-2500K or AMD FX-6300, and a GeForce GTX 970 or Radeon RX 6400. For higher settings, the developer recommends 16 GB RAM, a Core i7-4770K or Ryzen 5 1500X, and an RTX 2070 or RX 5700 XT. Around 35 GB of free storage space is required; an SSD is recommended.

The game world consists of handcrafted locations across several star systems. Between space stations, asteroid fields and planet surfaces, side missions, puzzles, secrets and resource deposits await. The Wrath of the Ancients expansion opens up more star systems.

Different spaceship classes change your combat style: some rely on agility and precise attacks, others on durability or special technical abilities. New ships, components and upgrades let you adapt your equipment to your preferred weapons and enemies.

Weapons and ship components have different traits and rarity levels. You upgrade your equipment with new loot, craft selected items yourself and use resources from exploration and mining. Steadily upgrading your ship makes up a large part of the progress.

The story centers on Adam Roslin, a clone pilot seeking his place outside the conflicts of Cluster 34. The campaign links his personal story with missions for various characters and groups. Besides the main plot, you can discover numerous side missions and locations.

EVERSPACE 2 was released on Aug 12, 2026 as the Galactic Edition for Nintendo Switch 2. The package includes the main game, Titans, Wrath of the Ancients and the Supporter Pack. ROCKFISH Games cites 30 frames per second for this version. The console port was created together with Engine Software.

EVERSPACE 2 is designed entirely as a single-player adventure. Combat, exploration, loot and the story are played without a cooperative multiplayer group. An online co-op mode is not part of the game.
