What is Fallen Tear: The Ascension?
Fallen Tear: The Ascension is a hand-drawn 2D Metroidvania by Winter Crew Studios with clear JRPG influences. The focus is on Hira, a boy with a lost past, who travels through the fantasy world of Raoah, faces corrupted gods and tries to restore the balance of the world.
The game combines freely branching exploration, action combat, puzzle sections and a companion system. Progress comes not only from classic new abilities but also from so-called Fated Bonds: recruited characters whose talents open new paths in the world and extra options in combat.

Gameplay
Fallen Tear uses a classic Metroidvania framework with branching exploration, boss fights, platforming sections and puzzles. In combat, Hira can strike, parry and dodge; skill trees and freely combinable abilities allow for different builds.
The world is hand-drawn and highly interconnected. New companion talents and Hira's own Ascension abilities open additional routes and change how areas are reached and combat is approached.

Fated Bonds and builds
The Fated Bonds system is one of the core features of Fallen Tear. Hira can meet up to 22 potential companions. Each brings their own abilities, their own story and talents that can be used in both combat and exploration.
As a result, the companions do more than work as story characters: their powers directly affect Metroidvania progression and can open new paths or alternative tactics.

Raoah and the Temple of Oras
Raoah is designed as a large, connected fantasy world with numerous biomes. Between expeditions, Hira returns to the Temple of Oras, which serves as an upgradable home base. Recruited allies move in there, while mini-games and progression systems unlock further improvements.
The official game description lists 26 interactive biomes and more than 150 enemy types or enemy encounters as part of the total content.
