Release
FOUNTAINS was released for PC on Dec 20, 2024. Versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch followed on Sept 17, 2026, along with the expansion Shattered Shape. The Nintendo Switch 2 edition was released on Sept 24, 2026.

DLCs and expansions
Shattered Shape was released on Sept 17, 2026 as an expansion to FOUNTAINS. It adds the southern Vainlands as a new area with additional dungeons, enemies, gear and quests, and continues the story around the Usurper's prophecy.

System requirements
The minimum PC requirements are low: Steam lists a 64-bit processor, a dual-core processor at 1.2 GHz, 4 GB RAM, OpenGL ES 2+ and around 1 GB of free storage. The game profile still says Windows 7+, but the current Steam client requires Windows 10 or later.

Switch 2: 120 FPS and Gauntlet Mode
The Switch 2 edition, released on Sept 24, 2026, supports 120 FPS on compatible displays and includes Gauntlet Mode, in which the boss fights are played as one continuous challenge. An Upgrade Pack is available for owners of the Switch version.
