He is Coming

He is Coming is a roguelite RPG with automatic battles and short preparation phases. The Demon King returns, and you search a decaying fantasy world for weapons, armor and artifacts to defeat his servants.

Instead of triggering every attack yourself, you make the key decisions about gear, exploration and choosing your next enemies. Each new run presents different combinations and dangers.

He is Coming has been playable on PC in Early Access since July 17, 2025. A release on iOS and Android is announced for 2027.

Playdigious is handling the mobile versions and adapting the controls for smartphones and tablets. No exact date has been announced for the mobile launch or for the end of the PC Early Access phase.

He is Coming is available on Windows PC. The PC version is offered via Steam, GOG, the Epic Games Store and the Xbox PC Store.

Standalone versions for iOS and Android are announced for 2027. GeForce NOW additionally offers cloud streaming of the PC version, but it is not a further native release.

He is Coming combines exploration with tactical preparation. During the day you visit places in the world, look for gear and decide whether to spend resources at merchants or upgrade them at special stations.

At night, the paths become more dangerous. In the automatic battles, the items, stats and effects you put together decide whether you can withstand the attackers.

He is Coming requires at least 2 GB RAM and 400 MB of free storage on Windows 10 64-bit. Steam lists a GeForce GTX 460 with 1 GB or a Radeon HD 5830 with 1 GB as minimum graphics cards.

For the recommended settings, Steam lists 4 GB RAM and a graphics card with 2 GB of memory. The technical requirements for iOS and Android are separate.

Every three game days, a new powerful enemy sets out to hunt your hero. You need to use the limited time to put together gear that matches its abilities exactly.

A combination that worked brilliantly against the last boss can fail in the next fight. That way, the game forces you to swap out strong items too.

Battles run largely automatically. What matters is your gear, the order of attacks, defense values and additional effects.

Higher speed can help you hit the enemy early. More armor gives an advantage against some bosses, while other attacks bypass armor. The right item is therefore not necessarily the one with the highest number.

The Early Access version alone offers more than 350 items. Weapons, shields, armor and magic artifacts can be combined into different strategies.

Your available space is limited. You need to decide which pieces you need for the current enemy and which could help you in later fights.

The Early Access version has more than 30 different bosses. Each brings its own abilities that make certain gear especially strong or weak.

One enemy can penetrate armor, while another can turn your hero's attack power against you. Before the encounter, it's worth tailoring your current strategy to that specific enemy.

He is Coming currently lets you explore two areas with their own creatures, locations and mechanics. Over the course of a run, the Demon King's influence spreads and changes the environment.

New paths, enemies and found items make every attempt different. Further areas and content are planned for development after the Early Access phase.

Even a failed run can unlock more options. Over 100 challenges add new items to the pool that later heroes can find gear from.

This permanent progress means that further attempts differ not only through random finds but also through additional choices.

Kingmaker is an asynchronous multiplayer mode in which your hero takes on other players' gear strategies. The goal is to claim the crown of the fallen Demon King.

Because opposing setups vary, it is not enough to keep using one successful combination.

He is Coming also offers real-time duels against friends. Both sides explore the world, build their gear and face each other at regular intervals.

Playdigious also mentions Kingmaker and friend duels in the announcement of the mobile versions. How the connection between PC and mobile players works in detail has not been confirmed.

The iOS and Android versions get specially adapted touch controls and also support controllers. Playdigious also announces cloud saves.

The mobile versions are meant to bring the preparation, exploration and automatic battles of the PC game to smaller screens. A shared save file between PC and mobile devices has not been promised.

The PC version offers German menus and on-screen text. German voice acting is not among the listed language options.

Playdigious has not yet published a full language list for iOS and Android. The language selection on PC therefore does not automatically mean the same scope for the mobile versions.

He is Coming is developed by Chronocle and published by Hooded Horse. The game first launched in early access for PC.

For the announced iOS and Android versions, Playdigious is working on the mobile port. The original PC version by Chronocle therefore remains the gameplay basis of the later versions.
