What is Heavy Metal Death Can?
Heavy Metal Death Can is a single-player survival horror game by Krufs Productions. The story takes place on the Swedish submarine HMS Domherren in the Norwegian Sea, in an alternate version of the late 1970s. After a catastrophe, the remaining humans try to find out what happened on board and find a way out.
Fixed camera angles, scarce supplies, puzzles and exploration of interconnected rooms recall the early 3D entries of the genre. The developer combines this concept with a gloomy, industrial setting and a heavy metal soundtrack. The official product pages do not mention a co-op or competitive multiplayer mode.

Gameplay
The game draws on classic survival horror titles with fixed camera angles, scarce supplies and inventory management. On the submarine, the player character searches for clues, keys and other items to open locked areas and understand the background of the incident. Enemy crew members are infected by a mysterious substance.
The controls follow older console horror games but, according to the developer, also offer more modern control options. Encounters are meant to be shaped less by constant fighting and more by the targeted use of limited ammunition and weighing up risks. The search for survivors and discovering their different interests carry the story.
